... almost the same. Seeing one person hurt another person just causes me a very particular kind of pain.

Not sure if it's a good topic or not. I mean - I can talk about it without going catatonic or anything :-)

I should probably add: I loved the movie, for the same reason why it shocked me. My general opinion is that yes, if you're going to talk about people hurting each other, then you have a responsibility to treat the topic in all seriousness and show it for the horrible thing that it is.
